Roof Recovers

In most cases, roof replacement or repair involves removing all existing roof material down to the roof deck, including the vapor barrier, insulation, membrane and flashing. In some situations, it’s possible to leave the existing roof, including the old membrane, and install a new membrane over top. This is called a “roof over” application and is known as roof recover. Our team handles this on a case by case basis, but recovers are usually not preferred unless there is a low slope metal roof needing membrane roofing over the top.

While we will never push for a roof recover, we understand that there are certain situations where covering a section is essential.
We work with engineers and local building officials to make sure the structure can support the extra weight of a new roof.
